A Working Board Moving the Mission Forward

Candace founded Share Life Gifts, Inc. in July 2021. As the organization’s President and CEO, her mission is to reduce the resource gaps in the African American Community and other historically underrepresented minority communities. She seeks to empower these groups, increasing their chances for generational wealth. SLG, Inc. will leverage the skills and talents of individuals toward this effort by forming a true talent giving community. Candace oversees the daily operations of SLG, Inc. She works closely with the Board to further Share Life Gifts’ mission. As a licensed attorney in multiple jurisdictions, Candace brings over 20 years of nonprofit experience as well as her extensive experience working with volunteer work forces, governance bodies, and other executive leadership. Candace also functions as supporter of the operations for Christian Counseling Group, LLC.  Candace has a Bachelor in Arts (Political Science) from the Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois, a Master in Arts (English) from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY., and a Juris Doctorate from The University of Illinois Chicago. She also served on the Board for Christian Counseling Associates before it dissolved after supporting the mental health community for over 30 years. She served as Vice President and President for NAMI Howard County, Maryland. Candace is also a member of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority Inc.

Alyssa Thomas serves as the Secretary of Share Life Gifts Inc., bringing her strong organizational, administrative, and leadership skills to the team. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science at Stevenson University, building on her Associate of Arts in General Studies from Prince George’s Community College. Alyssa is passionate about combining her academic background with her strong interpersonal and organizational skills to build a career that makes a meaningful impact. Known for her professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, she thrives in fast-paced environments where communication and problem-solving are key. Alyssa is excited to be part of Share Life Gifts Inc. and is passionate about using her skills to help further the mission of making a meaningful difference in the community. She looks forward to supporting the team and growing alongside the organization as it continues to impact lives in positive ways.

Since retiring from the government, Beth has channeled her empathy for victims of crime and exploitation along with her passionate advocacy for underserved populations into a new chapter as the founder and president of Crown Diversified Consultants. This new beginning has already led to her working as an advisor, researcher, and investigator for both the Black and Missing Foundation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Beth holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) and a Master of Arts (Sociology with a Criminology concentration) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and entertaining friends.

Jennifer Cephus has worked in the Financial Service industry for over 20 years and is currently at Citibank’s Wealth Management division as a Wealth Relationship Manager. She has cultivated relationships throughout her years working in the industry to help her clients reach their financial goals. Her passion lies in connecting individuals together to foster an environment where everyone succeeds. Another passion of Jennifer’s is working within her community and grassroot organizations to support the youth achieve academic excellence, social, and cultural awareness. She has worked with various non-profit organizations in the past and has been the President of Naomi’s Program of Excellence, a local non-profit organization based in Rockland County, New York. She currently sits on their executive team as Vice President and is a board member for Share Life Gifts Inc. While working with various organizations, she has assisted them in their fundraising efforts, partnering with other local organizations in her community, and their grant writing process. Jennifer has also assisted in spear-heading efforts related to assisting children further their academic aspirations through college planning activities such as SAT/ACT prep classes and college tours. Her vision for excellence is evident in her work in the community. Jennifer holds a Bachelor in Arts from the University of New York at Albany, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc., Life Member of the NAACP, a graduate of Jack and Jill of America Inc, and an Associate Member of Jack and Jill of America Inc.

Following his distinguished career in technology, Lawrence transitioned into public service with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where he dedicated 15 years to emergency management, disaster response, and resilience planning. His work at FEMA reflected his commitment to organizational excellence and community preparedness at the national level. Now retired, Lawrence continues to serve through volunteer leadership. He is actively engaged with Share Life Gifts Inc. and the American Red Cross, where he applies his organizational, analytical, and leadership skills to strengthen community outreach and support. Lawrence has been married for 54 years to his wife, Lois A. Jenkins, who also serves on the board of Share Life Gifts Inc. Together, they share a deep commitment to service, family, and community, alongside their son, Lawrence Casey Jenkins.

Thank you for the opportunity and privilege of letting me introduce myself, I am Lois A. Jenkins one of the Board Members of Share Life Gifts, Inc. As for my work experiences, I have been a Correctional Counselor, A Program Director for a Non-for-Profit, and has spent more than 25 years in Federal Government Services in United States Courts and reviewing grants. My career background has molded and prepared me to the various problems that normally occur in life. Aside from that, I have strong ethics, leadership skills which I was able to develop from my past experiences. My educational background makes me qualified for this post. During my free time, I Row, traveled around the world, and very much enjoy going to the movies with my family.
